Job Summary:
The Investment Due Diligence Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the evaluation, selection, and ongoing monitoring of third-party asset managers and investment products. This position combines rigorous investment analysis with macroeconomic research, market commentary, and operational due diligence to ensure a comprehensive review of potential and existing strategies. The analyst collaborates closely with senior team members, internal departments, and financial professionals to deliver thorough, timely insights that support sound investment decisions and risk management.
The role requires strong communication skills to engage with a wide range of audiences—from asset managers to internal leadership—while documenting findings, identifying concerns, and recommending improvements to processes, policies, and controls. The analyst will actively participate in due diligence meetings, coordinate follow-up actions, and provide best-in-class service by supplying clear, accurate, and actionable information to stakeholders. Staying informed on industry regulations, SEC filings, and FINRA requirements, the Investment Due Diligence Analyst ensures that Cambridge’s due diligence practices remain rigorous, compliant, and aligned with the firm’s commitment to excellence.
Essential Duties
The ideal candidate would possess an intermediate level of experience, typically around 4 or more years, in due diligence and market research within the financial services industry.
Certificates & Licenses
This job requires obtaining FINRA Series 7, 24, and 66 licenses within the first 12 months in order to complete job responsibilities. Cambridge will provide financial and educational support towards obtaining required license(s) including paid study time, training courses, study materials and online resources.

Essential Duties
- Participate in the team’s screening, investment analysis, and ongoing monitoring of third-party asset managers
- Perform macroeconomic research and create periodic market commentary and white papers on relevant industry topics
- Communicate to a wide range of audiences including third-party asset managers, internal management, colleagues, and financial professionals
- Collaborate closely with senior members of the team as well as other departments
- Analyze company business processes and use of third party service providers on a rotating schedule and analyzing products utilized by the firm; interacting with other departments to gather due diligence information, documenting and reporting on findings including specific concerns and recommendations for continued development of operational due diligence procedures.
- Coordinate, prepare, and actively participate in due diligence meetings with senior management to discuss potential and existing products and strategists and evaluate their processes, policies, procedures and controls
- Provide ‘best-in-class’ customer service related to Due Diligence and supply information as needed at request of management, company associates, and financial professionals and track open issues with consistent follow-up to ensure issues are resolved
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge by monitoring SEC filings and other reports from public programs regarding due diligence. Stay up to date on continuing education for FINRA licenses.

Preferred Skills
- Outstanding analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) as well as knowledge of one or more investment databases (FactSet, Morningstar, etc.)
- Ability to summarize and interpret substantial amounts of economic and financial data while demonstrating excellent attention to detail
- Experience in analyzing various investment products such mutual funds, SMAs and ETFs
- Completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program and/or progress towards the CFA designation is preferred
