Job Overview
The Senior Project Engineer performs engineering duties for new installations and renovations, including equipment and facilities. This role is also responsible for providing mentorship and informal leadership to staff Engineers.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support Operations, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Environmental Health Safety & Security and Process Engineering to ensure a safe and efficient facility to produce quality materials.
- Provide necessary engineering calculations and estimates to support project related design pertaining to assigned work and complete project Capital Authorization Requests.
- Develop / Create / revise drawings and sketches as they pertain to projects and other tasks throughout the facility.
- Collaborate with Director, Project Engineering on workload balancing for Engineering Staff.
- Maintain vendor /contractor relationships including but not limited to contract development, policy/procedure administration, training and scheduling.
- Perform administrative tasks associated with project management including creating and maintaining capital project budgets and schedules, purchase requisition entry, and monthly time allocation.
- Enters data on maintenance database as required for proper maintenance documentation as applied to Capital projects and work orders.
- Provide regular updates on all project status or as required
- Maintain/update appropriate department files, including but not limited to: Capital asset requests, project closure forms, equipment inspection reports, appropriate change control documentation, cGMP files, Standard Operating Procedures.
- Act as key representative for proactive safety/quality initiatives for Engineering Staff.
- Support all requested HAZOP functions.
- Manage staff timecard approvals as needed.

Qualifications/Skills
- Good communication skills required (written and verbal)
- Computer skills required, preferably Windows based, AutoCAD experience a plus
Education, Experience & Licensing Requirements
- BS in Engineering or equivalent degree required.
- 10 years of experience preferred.
