Position Summary
The Landscape Construction Project Manager plays a critical role in the successful execution of Cambium’s construction projects. This position is responsible for managing projects from contract through closeout, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
The Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between clients, Site Foremen, subcontractors, and the internal team, translating design intent into high-quality built landscapes through strong leadership, disciplined project management, and clear communication.
This role balances hands-on field involvement with organized administrative oversight and works closely with the Construction Manager and Operations team to support consistent, profitable project delivery.

Primary Responsibilities
Project Execution & Scheduling
- Manage construction projects from contract award through final completion
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in coordination with the Construction Manager, Site Foremen, and subcontractors
- Anticipate project needs and proactively adjust plans for weather, site conditions, and client changes
- Assist with site layout, grade shooting, and coordination of labor, equipment, and materials
Field Leadership & Quality Control
- Oversee daily job site activity to ensure work is performed safely, accurately, and to design specifications
- Direct and support Site Foremen with sequencing, logistics, and crew coordination
- Monitor erosion control, site security, and overall site organization
- Perform ongoing quality checks, create punch lists, and lead final walkthroughs
- Occasionally perform or demonstrate specialized construction techniques when needed
Client Communication
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients during construction
- Maintain clear, professional, and timely communication regarding progress, schedule changes, and site conditions
- Coordinate and document client walkthroughs and feedback
Budget, Cost & Change Management
- Track labor hours, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs against approved estimates
- Monitor materials usage from inventory and direct purchases
- Prepare, process, and track change orders and client approvals
- Proactively identify potential cost overruns and communicate concerns to the Construction Manager
Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate subcontractors and vendors to ensure scope, schedule, and quality expectations are met
- Place material orders and manage delivery coordination
- Ensure subcontractor documentation, protocols, and safety requirements are followed
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate project documentation including site logs, receipts, equipment logs, and change orders
- Submit verified labor hours, vehicle and equipment logs, and invoice details for billing and review
- Create and manage punch lists and closeout documentation
- All project invoices are reviewed internally prior to final submission
Safety & Compliance
- Monitor job site safety and enforce company safety standards
- Prepare and lead on-site safety briefings as required
- Ensure compliance with permitting requirements, inspections, and environmental regulations
Team Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with the Construction Manager, Designers, Estimators, and Operations team to align execution with design intent and company goals
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Site Foremen and crew as needed
- Participate in project debriefs and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- 7 years of experience in landscape construction or design-build environments
- Strong ability to read and interpret landscape construction drawings and details
- Proven experience managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and client relationships
- Highly organized, proactive, and accountable work style
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working both in the field and with administrative systems
- Valid Washington State driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform site walkthroughs, including lifting up to 50 lbs
Preferred Experience
- Experience in the Pacific Northwest landscape construction industry
- Familiarity with local permitting and municipal inspections
- Experience using construction scheduling or project tracking software
- Basic Spanish language skills helpful but not required
