We are currently seeking a high-energy, passionate Assistant Fitness Coach to support our coaching team and help deliver an exceptional member experience in every class.
Position Summary
As an Assistant Fitness Coach at Orangetheory Fitness, you will play a key support role in delivering high-quality coaching, maintaining class consistency, and helping foster a positive, high-performing fitness culture within the studio. This role is ideal for a coach who is ready to grow their leadership skills while continuing to build coaching excellence on the floor.
You will support the Head Fitness Coach in upholding class standards, onboarding and developing newer coaches, assisting with scheduling and studio readiness, and ensuring members receive a motivating, safe, and results-driven experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach high-quality, high-energy Orangetheory classes while delivering a consistent and engaging member experience
- Support the Head Fitness Coach in maintaining coaching standards and class quality across all sessions
- Assist with onboarding, training, and development of new coaches in the studio or market
- Help reinforce proper coaching execution, member engagement, and floor presence among the coaching team
- Partner with studio leadership to foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented culture across fitness and sales staff
- Support fitness schedule coverage and assist with coaching schedules as needed
- Monitor member safety during sessions, including proper form, posture, equipment use, and heart rate zone guidance
- Help maintain studio cleanliness and ensure fitness equipment and training areas are organized and member-ready
- Drive member engagement, class attendance, and retention through strong coaching and relationship-building
- Represent Orangetheory Fitness in community events, studio outreach, and brand-building activities
- Attend and contribute to team meetings, webinars, and ongoing fitness education opportunities
- Serve as a role model on the floor by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and energy in every class
Qualifications
- Intermediate knowledge of physiology, biomechanics, and functional movement
- Experience in group fitness instruction and/or personal training, with 1–2 years preferred
- Ability to adapt exercises in real time for different fitness levels and member needs
- Current nationally recognized fitness certification required, such as NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, AFAA, NFPT, NPTI, or equivalent
- Current CPR/AED Certification required
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field preferred
- Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills
- High-energy, motivating presence and passion for helping people achieve results
- Ability to work collaboratively and take direction while also showing leadership potential
- Flexible schedule availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds and demonstrate exercises as needed
