About the Role:

The Dental Front Support Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the front office within a dental practice. This position is responsible for leading and coordinating the front desk team to deliver exceptional patient service, manage appointment scheduling, and oversee patient check-in and check-out processes. The role requires a strong focus on communication, organization, and problem-solving to maintain a welcoming and professional environment for patients and staff alike. Additionally, the Dental Front Support Lead collaborates closely with clinical and administrative teams to optimize workflow and enhance patient satisfaction. Ultimately, this position drives the front office’s operational excellence, contributing directly to the overall success and reputation of the dental practice.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a dental or medical front office role.
  • Proficiency with dental practice management software and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Strong knowledge of dental insurance plans, billing procedures, and patient financial responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to lead a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Dental Front Office Specialist or equivalent credential.
  • Experience in a supervisory or lead role within a dental practice.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in scheduling software and patient management systems.
  • Additional training or coursework in customer service or healthcare administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, and support the front desk team to ensure high-quality patient service and efficient office operations.
  • Manage patient appointment scheduling, confirmations, and follow-ups to maximize provider availability and reduce no-shows.
  • Oversee patient check-in and check-out procedures, including verifying insurance information and processing payments accurately.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patient inquiries, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and timely communication of patient needs and updates.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations and office policies.
  • Assist in billing and insurance claim processes by verifying patient coverage and addressing discrepancies.
  • Monitor office supplies and equipment to ensure the front desk operates without interruption.
  • Implement and improve front office procedures to enhance efficiency and patient experience.
