We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented entry level Buyer to join our dynamic Supply Chain team. The Buyer will lead activities related to the procurement of goods and services, including raw materials, parts, and supplies necessary for production. This role will involve managing MRP reviews, material planning and ordering, supplier interactions, and invoice resolution to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement processes.
Position Summary
The Buyer – is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing production goods and services required to support Central Moloney's operations. This role oversees all procurement activities, including MRO, facilities, office supplies, professional services, utilities, and travel, ensuring alignment with company goals for cost control, supplier performance, and compliance. The Buyer will also lead material planning, ERP-based procurement execution, and supplier relationship management to support production continuity and operational excellence.
Procurement Management
· Source, negotiate, and manage categories such as MRO, facilities, utilities, office supplies, uniforms, promotional materials, travel, fleet, and third-party services.
· Conduct Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and ERP reviews to align purchasing activities with operational forecasts and production schedules.
· Develop and issue RFQs/RFPs, analyze bids, and make sourcing recommendations that balance cost, quality, and delivery.
· Manage purchase orders and ensure compliance with company policies, approval limits, and documentation standards.
· Support resolution of invoice discrepancies in collaboration with Accounts Payable and suppliers.
Supplier Management
· Build and maintain strong supplier relationships focused on performance, reliability, and value creation.
· Monitor supplier performance using metrics for cost, delivery, and quality; address non-performance through corrective action.
· Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation and cost savings through data analysis and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Financial Accountability
· Track and report spending by category and cost center.
· Identify savings opportunities, negotiate favorable terms, and contribute to annual cost-reduction initiatives.
· Maintain budget adherence and provide regular reporting to Supply Chain leadership on key performance indicators (KPIs).
Collaboration
· Partner with Facilities, HR, Operations, and Finance teams to develop sourcing strategies that meet business needs.
· Act as the liaison between internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure alignment of technical, quality, and delivery requirements.
Continuous Improvement
· Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance the efficiency of purchasing operations.
· Support ERP system optimization and promote best practices for planning, forecasting, and procurement workflows.
· Stay informed of market trends, supplier innovations, and best practices in procurement.
Qualifications
· Associate Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
· Prefer more than 1 year of experience in procurement or supply chain
· Experience with ERP systems (Infor Syteline preferred); strong understanding of MRP and planning functions.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, lookups, and cost analysis).
· Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
