MATERIALS AND SCHEDULING COORDINATOR

100 years in Hanover, PA, has designed and assembled custom machines for clients throughout the world. Our clientele includes the railroad, mining, automotive, renewable energy and most recently the aerospace industries. Job Summary

You will be part of the team responsible for creating and following a flexible scheduling system that enables us to service clients and meet our manufacturing goals of on time shipments, accurate inventory, and increasing gross profit through communication with other departments. You will be expected to develop processes to utilize our ERP system more fully for scheduling work, purchasing goods, and maintaining an accurate inventory. You will be responsible for coordinating the management of materials, forecasting and inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing leaders to develop a flexible scheduling system that provides clients with accurate shipment dates. Schedule should have built-in flexibility considering inside and outside resources to serve client timelines and provide opportunities for offering/accepting rush charges.
  • Understand capabilities and capacities of all steps to order fulfilment.
  • Coordinate with team members to maintain the schedule once it is presented to a client, especially by making sure vendors provide goods on time. Communicate with Sales what is in the pipeline, current timelines available to meet client requests.
  • Research vendors and send RFQ’s, select, negotiate, and issue purchase orders to vendors for raw materials, outside services, and components needed to build our machines to meet promised delivery times.
  • Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for best pricing and profitability with deliveries as needed to manage the project and cash flow. Confirm order lead time commitments and manage change, communicating with Sales, Engineering and Production leaders.
  • Create a system for constant schedule updates for the company from properly entered data in ERP System.
  • Update data files in the ERP system with latest prices and lead times to keep the system current
  • Learn and fully utilize the Scheduling, Purchasing and Inventory modules in our ERP system.
  • Monitor manufacturing requirements through the ERP system and by communicating regularly with Fabrication and Assembly leaders to ensure that materials are in place at the required time – not early or late.
  • Recommend solutions to existing processes to reduce waste and increase quality.
  • Prepare purchasing department SOP’s and work with accounting to develop Key Performance Indicators.
  • Work with Engineering to identify multiple sources and equivalent models of components.
  • Work with Fab to identify outside service vendors and monitor their deliveries.
  • Participate in the ERP implementation/training meetings.
  • Comply with all safety and health regulations.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse Team Member to maintain an accurate inventory and to check that vendor Packing Lists and Invoices match the PO and approve them for payment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent computer skills (Excel and Microsoft Word).
  • Experience with ERP system, especially Global Shop
  • Critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education And Experience

  • High School Diploma.
  • 5 years’ relevant work experience in an industrial environment preferred.

Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
