Position Summary:
The Safety Manager oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental programs for a semiconductor tools installation project. This role supports a collaborative site environment and ensures strict compliance with occupational safety regulations, company policies, and client expectations. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Safety Manager plays a key leadership role in fostering a proactive safety culture and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and uphold the CAM CORE culture of caring across all site operations.
- Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of site-specific safety programs in alignment with company, client, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with project leadership to define strategic safety goals, KPIs, and leading indicators.
- Investigate incidents, analyze root causes, and develop corrective/preventative measures.
- Conduct site inspections and audits; provide detailed reports and recommendations.
- Deliver and support safety training initiatives; ensure effective onboarding and continuous education for all team members.
- Maintain strong client and third-party communication regarding all safety matters.
- Assess safety performance using data and trend analysis to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Build, lead, and mentor an effective safety team to support the needs of the project.
- Manage documentation, reporting, and compliance records across all systems and platforms.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Corporate Safety Manager or Site Manager.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience as a Safety leader on construction or maintenance projects, preferably within a cleanroom or semiconductor environment.
- Associate degree or safety-related certifications (e.g., CHST, OHST, CSHO, ASP, CSP) strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and web-based safety platforms.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal abilities.
- Cleanroom and semiconductor facility experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of applicable OSHA and local safety regulations.
Working Conditions:
- Work may involve physical activity including climbing ladders, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching overhead, standing for extended periods, walking on uneven surfaces, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Role is based on an active construction site within a cleanroom/semiconductor facility.
- May involve exposure to varying temperatures, confined spaces, elevated work areas, and construction-related noise.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including cleanroom garments, is required.
- Extended hours and occasional weekend work may be required based on project demands.
