Hiring for a Regional Owner Operator to haul flatbed and dry van loads. Typical routes are Southern & SE loads of building materials and CGAPP.Flatbed loads are lumber and bricks. Dry Van loads are CGAPP. Tarp pay on flatbed loads. Home most weekends.

Responsibilities

• Must provide heavy duty semi truck, flatbed trailer, and dry van trailer
• Must provide cargo and general liability insurance
• Must provide ancillary equipment for securing loads (chains, binders, straps, brick gates, flame retardant 6ft drop tarps, dunnage, bungee cords, reflective triangles, oversize banners, etc.)
• Responsible for maintaining equipment
• Responsible for maintaining registration and FMCSA compliance
• Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving in electronic log device
• Document and sign load sheets regularly for each stage of the loading and unloading process
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents or violations

Skills

• Proven work experience as a truck driver
• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, eLogs, etc)
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
• Valid truck driving license
• 5 years of CDL Class A driving experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $4, $5,300.00 per week
