What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Receiving Inspector position at Calyxis Global Solutions?
We are currently searching for a hands-on Quality Receiving Inspector for one of my local, mid-market Aerospace Manufacturing clients here in CT. This position is ideal for someone with strong incoming inspection experience and the ability to ensure all purchased and returning products meet drawing, spec, and certification requirements before release to production.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform visual, dimensional, and documentation inspections on incoming machined parts, hardware, raw materials, and special process returns.
• Review and verify certifications including C of C, material test reports, special process certs, and FAIR/PPAP documentation.
• Maintain part-specific inspection instructions, sampling plans, gage setups, and traceability records.
• Identify and document nonconformances, coordinate supplier corrective actions, and support continuous improvements within the Receiving Inspection area.
• Crosstrain in the CMM room to assist with first-article, in-process, and final inspections as needed.
Requirements:
• 1–3 years of experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing inspection.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T fundamentals.
• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, bore/height gages, pins, and other common inspection tools.
• Experience reviewing certs (HT, plating, coatings, NDT, etc.), FAIR/PPAP concepts, and traceability requirements.
• Clear, professional communication skills for working with suppliers and internal teams.
• CMM experience (PC-DMIS, Calypso, etc.) is a plus, and training is available for the right candidate.
