What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Shift Medication Technician position at Calyx Living?
Calyx Living is actively seeking 1st Shift Medication Technicians for our assisted living community located in beautiful North Durham off the Eno River and just minutes from Duke University, the Durham Bulls Athletic Park and the American Tobacco Campus in downtown Durham's vibrant entertainment district. As a Med Tech, you will be responsible for the administration of medications and also be responsible for supporting the Personal Care Assistants (PCA's) by providing personal care services to our seniors. Additional responsibilities may include but aren't limited to: Keeping records updated on medication administrative files, regular communication with pharmacy, families, residents and supervisors, charting, verbal encouragement to support residents, and order/receive medication.
Must have a "safety first" attitude towards all of our residents and staff.
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina MT Certification required
- Assisted Living / Skilled Nursing experience a must
- Excellent communication with residents and families
- Compassion, patience and understanding for residents
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
- Supervisory background preferred
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays
