What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector - Second Shift position at Calyx Containers?

We’ve developed a suite of packaging products for flower, concentrates, joints, in addition to a modular tray system designed to standardize the transportation and reconciliation process. We are looking for a Quality Inspector to help hold our production team accountable to the company’s Quality at the source focus. This team member will document findings and alert key team members of issues for improvement to meet the quality expectations of our products.
The schedule for this role is 2 pm - 10pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform and document end of line inspections on 100% of label rolls leaving our label production facility
- Perform and document end-of-line inspections on labelled containers
- Perform regular audits of inline checklist to ensure accountability of production quality at the source
- Alert Production leadership and Quality team of findings
- Record findings in the company’s Manufacturing pipeline so that Quality can monitor product deficiencies for continuous improvement
- Perform and record new product testing results for Product Development and Quality as needed
- Assist in Lot Validations of outsourced products as needed
- Assist in quality tooling calibration
- Perform ongoing internal quality audits as needed. Provide testing results to cross functional teams i.e., Product Development, Quality, SC
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 1 year working in a quality inspection role
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders
- Strength in critical thinking with the demonstrated ability to problem solve, and the ability to quickly shift priorities to meet changing demands
- Time management skills to ensure responsibilities are completed on time without hindrance to company operations
- Comfortable working with technology including, CRMs, ERPs, Google Workspace, Vision inspection systems, as well as other testing equipment/ software that become available
