Position Overview

ProAm Steel is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Inside Sales Representative to support our growing pipeline of PEMB projects. This role focuses on quoting, managing, and supporting pre-engineered metal building sale. These projects include hangars, general commercial structures, maintenance facilities, and specialty building types. You will work closely with our outside sales team, contractors, engineers, and internal departments to deliver accurate bids and maintain strong project communication from initial inquiry through completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, review, and pursue active bid opportunities for PEMBs across multiple markets
  • Prepare timely and accurate quotes, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, building codes, and project specifications
  • Collaborate closely with the outside salesperson, taking ownership of incoming leads and managing the quoting and follow-up process
  • Maintain involvement throughout the lifecycle of sold projects, supporting communication between customers, detailing, engineering, and production teams Build and strengthen partnerships with contractors, architects, engineers, and repeat customers through professional, personable communication
  • Organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, keeping deadlines, documents, and updates on track
  • Assist with proposal development, pricing options, and value-engineered solutions when needed
  • Keep detailed records of quotes, customer interactions, and project progression within the company's CRM or tracking systems
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing questions, clarifications, and coordination needs promptly

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales, B2B sales, or territory management within relevant industries such as technology or retail.
  • Demonstrated success in lead generation through cold calling or direct outreach methods.
  • Strong skills in negotiation, customer service, and relationship building to foster long-term client partnerships.
  • Prior experience with pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMBs) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids and projects at once.
  • Personable, professional communicator capable of building long-term client relationships.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and technical details is a plus.
  • Familiarity with construction sales, estimating, or general contracting is beneficial.
  • Proficient with standard office software; CRM experience preferred.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently while collaborating closely with internal teams.
  • Minimal travel required; this is a primarily office-based role.
