SUMMARY: Perform office related clerical work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain automated (and manual) student records, generate reports, attendance sheets, reports, and class lists.
  • Act as receptionist for the school or the special education office and manages traffic.
  • Answer the phones, distribute calls. Perform typing and clerical duties as assigned.
  • Maintains special education database. Maintain logs and inventories.
  • Maintain systematic filing system.
  • Operate standard office equipment.
  • Distribute mail and packages.
  • Assist with special education student registration and withdrawals.
  • Generate word processing and spreadsheet documents.
  • Copy and distribute written information.
  • May be required to work with students under the direction of a certificated staff member.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) One year experience and demonstrated and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
