Reports to:
Director, Family Birth Center
Job Summary:
To assess, plan, implement the nursing care to meet the patients' needs, by following the appropriate policy and procedures of the assigned department.
Education:
Position requires an associate's degree (A.A) or diploma program.
Registration/Certification/Licensure:
Registered Nurse Certification; State Licensure
Experience:
Position requires a minimum of one year direct experience in Labor/Delivery, OR circulator role, Post Partum and Newborn Nursery. CPR and NRP required. PACU experience preferred.
Other Requirements:
Maintain unit specific and hospital competencies in accordance with policy requirements.
Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs and documents delivery of nursing care via the nursing process: assessment, problem identification, planning, nursing interventions, and evaluation.
Practices within nursing standards of practice and follows CalvertHealth policies and procedures.
Utilizes a multi disciplinary approach to determining and executing the most effective plan of care.
Adheres to policies and procedures for medication administration and documentation.
Performs duties according to established standards for population served.
Provides individualized patient/family education.
Delegates authority and responsibility effectively to provide safe patient care.
Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals.
