- Job Summary:
- Interviews and interacts with patients and when indicated, their advocates, to obtain mental status and psychiatric and social histories relevant to their current emotional/behavioral problem(s).
- Uses current evidence-based knowledge and skills to assess psychiatric emergencies and to provide sound, professional care and crisis intervention services to patients.
- Education:
- Position requires graduation from an accredited Masters Degree Program in a mental health discipline (i.e., social work, counseling, or psychology).
- Registration/Certification/Licensure:
- A license in their particular discipline (e.g., social work, counseling, or psychology - L.C.S.W., L.C.P.C., C.S.) must be obtained within 12 months of the employee's hire or transfer date.
- Experience:
- Position requires a minimum of 6 months postgraduate clinical experience.
- Other Requirements:
- Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays to assist in achieving 24/7 on-call coverage.
- Effectively communicates with all patient populations and staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice.
- Effectively advocates for quality patient safety and satisfaction as a daily practice.
- Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills necessary to effectively complete position requirements.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment producing quality work.
