Description
Calvary Christian School seeks to teach the whole child the whole truth in every aspect of our school. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality experience to our students and parents. This candidate will:
- Exemplify and communicate the Christian faith while working with students, families, and staff.
- Plan and implement daily lessons using the Abeka curriculum, ensuring age-appropriate instruction and student engagement
- Create a structured, nurturing, and Christ-centered classroom environment conducive to learning
- Maintain responsibility for the supervision and safety of students at all times, both inside and outside the classroom
- Observe students’ behavior and development, addressing concerns and communicating progress regularly
- Communicate effectively and consistently with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities
- Supervise and care for students in the event of a disaster or other emergency, as outlined in the Faculty/Staff Handbook for disaster preparedness
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student growth, including mid-year and end-of-year evaluations, and communicate results clearly with parents
- Plan and facilitate Open House events throughout the year, welcoming families into the classroom and showcasing student learning and the Abeka curriculum
- Report any suspected abuse of children to the Director or Head of School
- Collaborate with staff and administration to support school-wide goals and initiatives
- Other duties may be assigned during the year as needed
Qualifications
- Have a clear testimony of a strong, growing relationship with Christ as their personal Savior
- High School diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 1–2 years of classroom teaching experience preferred
- Experience with or willingness to learn the Abeka curriculum
- Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
