What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-time Pastor position at Calvary Baptist Church?
- Calvary Baptist Church needs a full-time pastor due to the retirement of our present pastor on October 18. The duties of our pastor are outlined in our constitution that we would be glad to send to you upon request. (judyasalmonssmith@gmail.com) Our main qualification is that you have compassion for all ages and will be a loving shepherd to our flock.
We have a large church building (1314 West 4th Avenue and Slater
Street), and plenty of room to grow. Calvary's small congregation is mostly
made up of elderly saints, but the younger members do manage an awesome youth
ministry on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. We have two church vans that
go out and transport the children to our church.
Due to devastation of flooding and the declining coal industry,
our community has low economics and a high poverty level. Even with the bleak
economy, the Lord has always blessed Calvary. We are able to feed our youth and
provide them with physical and spiritual substance. God is good!
We are blessed with a phenome trustee committee that keeps our
church building and four-bedroom parsonage in good condition.
We have a sound system, grand piano, and organ but are lacking
in musical ability.
Calvary's proposed salary is $30,000 plus housing.
