PURPOSE
Provide hands-on HR support across the employee lifecycle to ensure consistent policy application, compliance, and a positive employee experience. Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on HR processes.
Core Responsibilities
- Partner with TA to support requisition intake, interview coordination, offers, and onboarding
- Advise managers on policy, investigations, corrective action, and conflict resolution
- Facilitate performance-management cycles, goal setting, development plans, and calibration
- Coordinate compensation and benefits changes in partnership with Centers of Excellence
- Deliver basic HR training on processes and systems to managers and staff
- Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers, responding to employment-related inquiries and escalating complex matters as appropriate.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and reinforce Calumet Values.
- Perform routine HR tasks supporting payroll, benefits, compensation, HRIS, performance management, and talent planning programs.
- Coordinate return-to-work and medical case management processes, including related documentation.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or HR
- 2 years of generalist HR experience
- Working knowledge of HRIS and MS Office
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment regulations
- Consultation and sound judgment
- Policy interpretation and compliance
- Basic HR analytics and reporting
- Strong organizational and confidentiality standards
- Collaborative problem solving
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills to effectively work with individuals.
- Self-motivated and detail oriented.
- Foster positive work relationships, solid team player, ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling highly confidential information.
