What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Summer Help (Highway) position at CALUMET COUNTY?
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Mows roadsides, clears brush, maintains signs and
responsible for litter pick-up along roadways. Breaks up concrete,
sweeps intersections. Applies crackfiller and crackfilling oil; and
patches potholes in pavement. Assists with flagging/traffic control.
Performs different painting jobs. Performs basic truck and machinery
maintenance. Hauls materials/supplies to worksite. Performs any other
related highway maintenance and construction work as required. It is
unlikely an employee will perform all the duties listed on a regular
basis, nor is the list exhaustive in the sense it covers all the duties
that an employee may be required to perform. The examples are merely

QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to perform heavy manual work in all types of
weather conditions and ability to learn and perform basic Highway

Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance. Ability to learn and
conform to goals, policies, procedures, and appropriate safety
regulations of the Highway Department, with respect to general functions
