Job Title: Safe Demand Response Transportation Driver
About the Job:
Under the supervision of the Aging and Disability Resource Center Supervisor, this role involves providing safe door-to-door transportation services for elderly and/or disabled individuals in Calumet County. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of traffic rules and regulations, as well as strong communication skills to interact with passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely transport passengers to medical, nutrition, shopping, and human services resources according to an assigned schedule
Operate wheelchair lift equipment and secure passenger's wheelchair to restraining device
Physically assist passengers requiring personal care into and out of the vehicle
Maintain a log of passengers, destinations, and trip details
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; 3-6 months experience operating a van or related experience preferred
Valid Wisconsin Driver's License required
Good knowledge of traffic rules and regulations, ability to understand and follow directions, and strong communication skills to interact with passengers
Working Conditions:
The work environment is fast-paced with frequent exposure to vibration. The noise level is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to six months experience in the operation of a van or related experience; courses in driver training and road safety; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
