Calumet City Plumbing (CCP) is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support Project Managers in delivering public and industrial construction projects from bid through closeout. This role is ideal for someone with early project management experience who wants to grow into a full Project Manager position while working closely with an experienced leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers with construction project execution from preconstruction through closeout.
- Manage project documentation including contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, bonds, and insurance.
- Assist with project financial tracking, including projections, billing, cash flow reporting, and closeout documentation.
- Help prepare project estimates and bid documentation.
- Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents to develop and maintain project schedules.
- Assist with subcontractor coordination and administration.
- Support quality control processes to ensure contract standards and project specifications are met.
- Communicate effectively with project teams, vendors, and clients to maintain project progress.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in construction project coordination, project engineering, or project management.
- Experience working on commercial, public sector, industrial, or infrastructure construction projects.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience managing construction documentation such as RFIs, submittals, schedules, and change orders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience in G702 and G703 contract time and material, and unit billings preferred.
