Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Field Operations Manager / Technical Foreman to lead and oversee field operations for Caltuck LLC’s wireless, network, access control, and camera system installations.
This role is critical to the success of our projects and is responsible for turning project scope into real-world execution in the field. You will lead technicians, make technical decisions on-site, and ensure jobs are completed correctly, efficiently, and profitably.
Our work is not limited to clean environments—we operate on rooftops, towers, and active job sites, installing and maintaining wireless links, network systems, access control, and surveillance infrastructure.
The ideal candidate has strong technical experience in low voltage and networking, is comfortable working in demanding field conditions, and can run jobs independently without constant direction.
This is a leadership role for someone who takes ownership, solves problems in real time, and ensures the job gets done right the first time.
Position Duties
- Lead on-site installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of:
- Wireless links (PtP / PtMP, antenna alignment)
- Network systems (routers, switches, access points)
- Access control systems (Paxton, Ubiquiti, strikes, maglocks)
- Cameras and structured cabling (Cat6, fiber, LMR)
- Supervise and direct field technicians to ensure:
- Jobs are completed efficiently and correctly
- Safety standards are followed (lifts, rooftops, towers)
- Crews stay productive and on task
- Act as the primary technical decision-maker in the field when plans change or issues arise
- Read and execute project scopes, diagrams, and system layouts without constant clarification
- Perform site assessments to determine:
- Equipment placement
- Cable routing
- Mounting solutions for rooftops, towers, and buildings
- Plan daily work and ensure crews leave with the correct tools, materials, and equipment
- Troubleshoot system issues across:
- Networking (IP, routing, switching)
- Wireless links and signal alignment
- Low voltage wiring and DC power systems
- Coordinate with the office to keep projects on schedule and within budget
- Train and guide junior technicians in proper installation and troubleshooting methods
- Communicate professionally with customers on-site
- Document completed work, changes, and issues for project tracking and billing
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong working knowledge of:
- TCP/IP networking and basic routing/switching
- Wireless systems and antenna alignment
- Low voltage cabling (Cat6, fiber, coax/LMR)
- Proven field experience installing and troubleshooting:
- Network infrastructure
- Wireless links
- Access control and camera systems
- Ability to troubleshoot end-to-end systems, not just individual components
- Experience leading crews or acting as a foreman on job sites
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using:
- Power tools
- Lifts and basic rigging/mounting methods
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Project scopes
- Wiring diagrams
- Installation plans
- Comfortable working in:
- Construction environments
- Rooftops and lift access
- Tower environments (or willing to learn)
- Strong communication skills with both field crews and customers
Preferred (Strong Plus)
- Tower climbing experience or certification
- Experience with Ubiquiti, Cambium, Tarana, SAF, or similar
- Fiber termination and testing
- Access control system experience (Paxton, Ubiquiti, etc.)
- Basic DC power system knowledge
- Experience coordinating with other trades on active job sites
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
