The base pay offered will reflect internal equity and may vary based on geographic location, skills, qualifications, experience, and assignment requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Support annual open enrollment from launch through completion, including answering employee questions, assisting with elections, tracking participation, auditing elections, reviewing carrier file feeds, and coordinating with benefit carriers and the broker.
  • Administer employee leave programs from initial intake through return to work, including notices, documentation, deadline tracking, pay and benefit coordination, and short-term disability coordination.
  • Process new-hire enrollments, terminations, life events, dependent and beneficiary updates, eligibility changes, payroll deductions, and carrier transactions.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for the benefits inbox, responding to routine employee questions and escalating sensitive or complex matters when appropriate.
  • Support carrier and vendor invoice reconciliation by comparing invoices with enrollment and payroll records and researching discrepancies.
  • Maintain benefits information in UKG and vendor platforms, perform eligibility audits and file-feed reviews, and prepare recurring and ad hoc reports.
  • Assist with recurring benefits compliance activities, including gathering data, maintaining documentation, and distributing required notices.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, employees, managers, benefit carriers, administrators, and the benefits broker to keep processes accurate, timely, and well-coordinated.
  • Provide general support to the Human Resources team, assisting with projects, reporting, employee communications, and other HR initiatives as needed.

What You’ll Bring

  • Knowledge of leave eligibility, leave administration, wage replacement programs, and return-to-work processes.
  • Familiarity with California-specific leave requirements and the interaction between state and federal leave laws.
  • Three or more years of hands-on benefits administration experience, including enrollments, life events, carrier coordination, and employee support.
  • Recent experience managing annual open enrollment, from planning and implementation through post-enrollment auditing and reconciliation.
  • Experience administering FMLA and other leave programs, including notices, certifications, documentation, deadlines, and disability coordination.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal ramp-up time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including reporting, auditing, data analysis, and reconciliation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA requirements and the ability to handle confidential employee information and protected health information (PHI) with discretion.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with UKG Pro benefits and open enrollment administration.
  • Experience supporting self-funded health plans.
  • Benefit invoice reconciliation experience.
  • Multi-state benefits or leave administration experience, including California.

What Success Looks Like

You bring practical benefits and leave expertise and can take ownership of recurring processes from the start.
