Caltrol is looking for an Account Manager (Mining).


As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for nurturing and expanding client relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and driving revenue growth. This role requires a deep understanding of client needs, the ability to deliver tailored, technical solutions, and a proactive approach to relationship management. You'll play a key role in achieving business objectives while positioning yourself for career advancement, including opportunities to lead our mining vertical strategy or manage high-impact enterprise accounts.


This is a customer-facing, outside sales role requiring frequent travel to industrial sites (including remote mines), long-term relationship building, and the ability to discuss complex technical solutions with engineers and plant managers.


Success in this role requires at least two of the following:


  • Proven Outside Sales Experience or Sales Acumen (full-cycle B2B sales)
  • Industry Knowledge (oil & gas, mining, utilities, or heavy industry) Mining Highly Preferred
  • Industrial Engineered Product Knowledge (valves, instrumentation, pumps, process controls)


While we welcome a variety of backgrounds, this position likely isn’t a fit if:

  • You only have retail or consumer sales experience with no exposure to industrial or technical environments.
  • You are uncomfortable visiting industrial sites (mines, plants) where PPE is required.
  • You are unfamiliar with engineered equipment, process control systems, or industrial automation solutions.


Hiring Range:

The hiring range for this position is $83,000-$124,000 annually with quarterly profit sharing. This is the base pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate along with the requirements of the position.


What you'll be doing:

  • Support all activities on assigned accounts, including sales forecasts, gross profit forecasts, territory, and account plans.
  • Determine and understand customers' key business issues and needs; create solutions utilizing products and services offered by Caltrol.
  • Assist Inside Sales with preparation of quotes, sourcing equipment, and closing orders. If necessary, help expedite delivery of equipment, vendor data, and payment.
  • Ensure customer quotes are being completed in a timely manner and facilitate quote follow-up to achieve sales.
  • Maintain and update project tracking tools and participate in scheduled review sessions.
  • Develop a high level of relevant industry knowledge for key / strategic accounts.
  • Build relationships with industry partners to understand industry needs.


What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related technical field — or equivalent combination of education and directly relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in outside sales of technical or engineered solutions in an industrial environment (process controls, mining, oil & gas, utilities, or similar).
  • Proven ability to apply a consultative selling approach, engaging across both technical and executive levels to uncover business outcomes and craft solutions.
  • Experience selling engineered solutions, capital equipment, or software/services into mining industry.
  • Strong record of B2B sales success (new customer acquisition account growth).
  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles and multi–Business Unit opportunities.
  • Comfortable engaging from plant floor to executive leadership levels.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools; pipeline and account managements.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel (data analysis), PowerPoint (presentations), Word (proposals).
  • Ability to utilize virtual collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter mindset.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean DMV record.
  • Ability to travel frequently to remote locations.


Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field.
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.

Work Environment/Work Schedule:

Hybrid work schedule. Home office, regular field / customer site visits, and reporting into our Chandler office.


Physical Demands:

This job is performed in a typical office setting, or home office, as well as visits to customer sites including remote mining sites for plant walkdowns. Sites may be loud with exposure to varying degrees of temperature. During these visits, extended periods of walking and standing may be required, up to 100% of the time. Moving, lifting, carrying, pushing up to 35 pounds (e.g., carrying materials or demo equipment). Must be able to wear required PPE when necessary.


Travel:

40% - 50% within the region (Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico). Overnight travel required to remote mining sites.
