Job Description And Duties

Under the general direction of the District Division Chief, Maintenance Engineering & Asset Management, a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the Senior Transportation Engineer (Sr TE) serves as the Branch Chief, Maintenance Engineering Support. The incumbent serves as the Program/Project and Design Manager for Highway Maintenance, Minor, and assigned State Highway Operation and Protection Program (SHOPP) projects. In this capacity, incumbent collaborates with Headquarters and District Program/Project Managers/Advisors pertaining to project requirements and priorities, scope, schedules, and funding allocations; prioritizes, investigates and selects appropriate strategies, establishes and maintains work plans including project scope, work agreements, costs, schedules, status reports, monitors and manages capital and support costs, tracks deliverables using various project management tools and software to ensure the delivery of contracts are within budget and on schedule. Directs and supervises engineering staff and provides engineering support to Maintenance Division staff in the preparation of technical studies and documents for the Highway Maintenance (HM), Minor programs, and other assigned projects.

• Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California State Board of Professional Engineers is required.
