Job Description And Duties

Under the specific direction of the Resource Manager, a Staff Services Manager I-Supervisor (SSMI), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) serves as the Resource Analyst for the Division of Budgets (Division). This AGPA position is responsible for independently performing the resource management activities of the Division including budget monitoring of expenditures against allocations, creating purchasing documents and other spending activity, coordinating the recruitment of Division staff, providing general human resource information and assistance, and coordinating the training needs of the Division. Daily communication with Division managers/supervisors and staff, and frequent communication with the Caltrans Division of Human Resources (HR) and Administration Program (Admin) is required. Occasional communication with the Caltrans Division of Procurement (DPAC), Division of Accounting (Accounting), and with the Learning and Development Office (LDO) is required.

Working Conditions

Position located at 1120 N St., Sacramento, Sacramento County.

Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment.

The work environment is in a six-story office building with stairs, elevator, carpet, fluorescent and LED lighting, in an open space modular-style cubical workstation. The building is climate-controlled and can generate fluctuating temperate from office area to office area. Work hours will be set between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
