Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Central Plant supervisor, perform maintenance and repairs on all plant and facilities related equipment required to insure proper operation of steam, water, gas, air, vacuum, cooling and heating systems, elevators, and other related building systems and equipment. The hours for this position are rotating between 7:00am-3:30pm and 11:00pm - 7:30 am (graveyard shift).
This is an Essential Reporting position. In the event of an emergency on campus, an employee designated as essential reporting has essential job skills that are needed for response and recovery and is expected to report to Campus as soon as possible.
Essential Job Duties
$30.00 - $35.25 Per Hour
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Essential Job Duties
- Utilize Caltech’s Integrated Workplace Management System software (AiM) to complete planned and corrective maintenance work orders.
- In coordination and cooperation with other trades and shops, perform various maintenance duties that include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Respond to emergency repair calls when necessary.
- Inspect and maintain the repair needs of the campus.
- Respond to elevator and fire alarm calls.
- Conduct oneself in a manner that will at all times maintain courteous, cooperative and professional relationships among all customers.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Must have at least 1 year of experience working in maintenance or maintenance repair, or construction field.
- Working knowledge of control systems, HVAC systems, fire alarms, plumbing systems and elevators is essential.
- Requires the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis.
- Possess and maintain a valid California Driver's license throughout the course of employment.
- Must be able to drive Institute vehicles and be able to adhere to the Institute's Motor Vehicle policy.
- Selected candidate must maintain attendance and arrive on time for all shifts.
