Job Summary
The Laboratory Technician will support a variety of research projects by preparing rock samples for whole-rock chemistry measurements, as well as collecting and processing data.
Essential Job Duties
$19.00 to $25.75 per hour
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

- Precision weighing of samples and reagents.
- Maintenance of traceable logbook of samples.
- Laboratory housekeeping to avoid sample contamination.
- Operation of X-ray fluorescence spectrometer, loss-on-ignition oven, and flux-melting machine.
- Operation of hydraulic press and laser-ablation mass spectrometer.
- Data curation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geological Science or related field.
