$22.00 - $26.25 Per Hour

Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Fish and Amphibian Technician is to maintain the general health of fish for research in the Bronner Lab.
Essential Job Duties
- Perform daily feedings for zebrafish, salamander, and lamprey populations; may be responsible for ordering and stocking fish food and supplies.
- Perform health surveys through daily monitoring and by sending samples out for histological surveillance for pathogens.
- Routine maintenance such as filter changes, system and tank cleaning, water quality monitoring, and troubleshooting any system failures.
- Rear fish larvae and bring shrimp for feeding adult fish.
- May clean and maintain all assigned work areas.
- May require lifting 20 - 50 pounds.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in fish maintenance is required.
- Must be dedicated, responsible, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Must enjoy working with fish.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Some experience with fish husbandry preferred, but not essential, as training will be available.
