What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stock Clerk / Cashier position at Cals Party Store?
We are looking for someone who is interested in cross training as both a cashier and a b stock clerk. We are willing to hire multiple people and split the work, but would prefer someone who is willing and able to do both jobs.
Stock Clerk:
- Stock the shelves of the store with goods and keep inventory full.
- Provide good customer service to help customers locate items.
- Receive merchandise that comes into the store and ensure that the merchandise is unloaded and stored according to established procedure.
- Count and sort returnable containers.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, clean bathrooms and maintain cleanliness of the store.
- Complete closing procedures to lock the store and turn off lights.
- Assist the cashier to provide a great customer experience.
Cashier
- Provides a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.
- Registers sales on a cash register by scanning items, itemizing and totaling customers’ purchases.
- Resolves customer issues and answers questions.
- Bags purchases if needed.
- Processes return transactions.
- Collects payments by accepting cash, check, or charge payments from customers and makes change for cash customers.
- Balances cash drawer by counting cash at beginning and end of work shift.
- Provides pricing information by answering questions.
- Maintains checkout operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.75 - $15.00 per hour
