Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated part-time Phlebotomy Technician Skills Instructor to join our team at our Vacaville, CA location. We are interested in candidates who are looking to work for a company that is passionate about changing lives and helping build the essential workforce! This specific program is scheduled to run Monday through Thursday from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM. The Skills Instructor is scheduled to work two days a week. Applicants must be available during the hours of this class schedule to be considered for this position.
Schedule is: Monday- Thursday 10:30 am -2:30 pm
The Phlebotomy Technician Skill Instructor’s duties and responsibilities include:
- Instructing students on the skills associated with the scope of practice for their designated subject.
- Assisting lead instructor to evaluate, report and record student performance and progress.
- Assisting lead instructor with all required skill labs, grading class assignments, and exams.
- Preparing students to go on to an externship.
- Assisting students to develop an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the health care profession.
- Providing a professional role model for students.
- Maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter area and effective teaching/learning strategies
This role requires the following qualifications:
- Current California CPT 1 license
- 1 year of experience preferred
- must be proficient in all aspects of blood collection including capillary, syringes, vacutainer, and butterfly methods
- Must be comfortable with speaking to large groups
- Ability to multitask and think critically
- Organized and detail oriented
