CERTIFIED FIRST ASSISTANT
BASIC FUNCTION
The Certified First Assistant is responsible for assisting surgeons with surgical procedures by performing the following duties.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- *Positions and preps patients prior to surgery.
- *Provides clear visibility for the surgeon by using instruments such as retractors and sponges.
- *Helps control blood flow.
- *Closes wounds with sutures or staples and properly dresses the wounds after surgery.
- *Collaborates with doctors and other team members to ensure proper care of patients.
- *May be assigned other duties such as responsibility for scheduling OR staff.
- Establishes individual goals which are aligned with the Company's business strategies and objectives.
- Functions as a contributing member of the department's team and other teams, as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned by executive leadership.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to maintain moderate levels of concentration while working under occasional time pressures and frequent interruptions.
- Ability to frequently maintain visual attention for extended periods of time.
- Ability to frequently stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally push or pull objects.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry light weights.
- Ability to occasionally kneel, recline, twist or climb.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
- This position requires working in the internal environment.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
- CFA certification
- Graduation from a degree program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
- Two years experience preferably in plastic surgery

- Computer and peripherals.
- Copy machine.
- Desktop scanner.
Salary : $28 - $35
