Duties
- Provide peer-led support and mentorship to individuals experiencing behavioral health or addiction challenges, sharing personal experiences to inspire hope and resilience
- Conduct crisis intervention and crisis management to de-escalate situations and ensure safety for clients and staff
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage clients’ motivation for change and recovery goals
- Collaborate with clinical teams by documenting interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to ensure seamless care coordination
- Assist clients in navigating mental health counseling, social services, and community resources tailored to their needs
- Support clients in developing coping strategies, life skills, and relapse prevention plans
- Maintain a positive, energetic attitude that fosters trust, engagement, and empowerment among clients
Requirements
- Lived experience with behavioral health recovery or addiction that aligns with the role’s peer support philosophy
- Demonstrated ability in crisis intervention and crisis management techniques
- Knowledge of mental health counseling principles and behavioral health practices
- Experience mentoring or coaching individuals through recovery or life challenges
- Familiarity with addiction counseling approaches and social work concepts is preferred
- Proficiency in motivational interviewing methods to facilitate client engagement and goal setting
- Ability to operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems accurately and efficiently
- Strong communication skills with an energetic, motivating presence that inspires hope and resilience
