About the Role:
Callen-Lorde is seeking a highly motivated Billing Associate to join our growing patient accounts team. In this critical role, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient and accurate billing for our patients, contributing directly to our mission of providing exceptional healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the lead billing contact, collaborating with medical staff to ensure timely patient account generation and reimbursement.
- Maintain accurate and efficient patient flow through our medical, behavioral health, and dental financial systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering billing and insurance questions with courtesy.
- Handle all aspects of the billing cycle, including:

- Insurance verification and authorization
- Treatment plan setup and monitoring
- Claims entry, processing, re-billing, and corrections
- Payment entry and reconciliation
- Overall account maintenance and troubleshooting
- Stay up-to-date on billing regulations and procedures.
Work Schedule:
Callen-Lorde is open Monday through Friday. This is a full-time position

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma required
- 1 year of medical billing experience required
- Strong Internet, PC, and spreadsheet skills
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT4 coding as well as Federal & NY State privacy and billing regulations/laws.
- Knowledge in 3rd party medical insurance eligibility and coverage
