Job Overview

This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of factory equipment and other industrial machinery used in semi and fully automated manufacturing. This role will be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance of a variety of industry standard and specialized equipment. This role will supervise the technical employees in the maintenance department responsible for repair and preventative maintenance work.

This position is onsite, at our Chicopee, Mass. location. The approximate standard hours are 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Provide feedback, performance appraisals, training, corrective action and guidance to employees within the Maintenance Department
• Dispatch maintenance personnel to machine breakdown, record machine downtime data and implement preventive actions based on collected data
• Schedule and coordinate the Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Programs to decrease breakdowns and maintain machines in use
• Use of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software or equivalent software to schedule, communicate, and track maintenance work being done and the costing associated
• Update, maintain, and create all PM reference information
• Analyze breakdown and/or downtime data and organize Maintenance tasks accordingly
• Document maintenance tribal knowledge in PM or document control
• Ensure parts and supplies are ordered and available for PM’s and breakdowns
• Support manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and other organizations with technical expertise, improvements, and project implementation
• Measure progress toward improvement goals and report results through meetings and visual display of information boards
• Assist in Plant Wide corrective action implementation and root cause evaluations
• Provide technical assistance to manufacturing, quality, engineering and maintenance to eliminate problems and drive continuous improvement related to the manufacture of products
• Analyze and control product process deviations
• Schedule, execute, and sustain projects requiring Maintenance based on priority
• Works towards improvements for process efficiencies
• Work in a safe manner following all PPE and standardized processes
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management
  
  
  

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

• Must be able to read, write and understand English
• Strong skillset and knowledge of industrial equipment and their inner workings
• Strong knowledge on industrial controls and PLC preferred
• Computer proficiency with MS family of software and CMMS system
  
  
  

Education And Experience

• Graduation from a technical program or Associate Degree or greater preferred
• Prior experience in a supervisory or lead role
• Prior experience or training in Electronic, Hydraulic, and Mechanical applications preferred
• OSHA 10

• The employee may be frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles
• The employee may be exposed to electrical currents and moving mechanical parts
• The employee may be exposed to confined spaces while working on machines
• The employee is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• The employee may be required to stand, sit, crouch, walk and bend/conform in uncomfortable positions for varying periods of time
• Will be required to use vision including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Occasionally required to lift to 50 lbs.
