Summary/Objective: The Project Accountant plays a key role in tracking and reporting on the project’s financial performance.
Essential Functions:
- The Project Accountant will be knowledgeable about all aspects of construction accounting and is responsible for the following:
- Input the monthly owner requisition
- Process and record Subcontractor monthly requisitions
- Ensure that subcontractors comply with terms and conditions of their contract (i.e. billing procedures, lower tier waivers, transfer of title, etc.)
- Process and select vendor/supplier invoices to be included in the weekly disbursement cycle
- Assisting with project setup and uploading the schedule of values
- Process change requests and budget updates
- Maintaining and Updating Accounting files as needed
- Process cost transfers when applicable
- Monitor and track the cash position of the project
- Support other Accounting staff team members with related tasks
- Work closely with Project Managers and Project Executives on all facets of project accounting and administration issues
- Ensure financial SOPs are followed to accomplish timely and accurate monthly financial closings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 0-5 years of related experience
- Outstanding team player with good interpersonal skills
- Spectrum/Viewpoint experience is a plus
