What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journeyman Plumber position at Callahan Construction Company?
Summary
Callahan Construction is a growing General Contractor in North Pole, Alaska. Our work is focused primarily on federal and commercial vertical construction. We are looking to add a Journeyman Plumber with mechanical experience to our team. This person will report directly to the Mechanical Administrator and will coordinate regularly with site Foremen and Superintendents.
Some examples of tasks to be performed would be:
- Installation of potable water, drain waste and vent, hydronic heat, natural gas, heating oil, and rain drain/overflow systems, etc.
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, repair and upgrades to plumbing systems in various settings and implement effective solutions.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine plumbing layouts.
- Load and unload construction materials; this position requires frequent manual lifting of objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Monitor supplies and tools inventory notifying site leadership of any potential shortages.
- Follow all site safety and OSHA standards and report unsafe conditions.
- Ensure all work meets relevant plumbing codes and safety regulations.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Experience
- Experience in construction plumbing with a strong mechanical knowledge base preferred.
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, honest.
- Clear and precise written and verbal communication.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification required - company sponsored if needed
Compensation / Benefits
Compensation is based on Davis Bacon wage rates.
