Job Title: Sanitary Maintenance Welder

Department: Maintenance

Location: San Diego, CA (on-site)

Reports to: Project Manager

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Working hours: Schedule may vary, including weekends. Project Based

Language: English and bilingual in Spanish required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Include the following. Other duties will likely be assigned.


  • Possess the ability to speak, read, and write in English.

  • 3 years of Experience as a welder in a fabrication manufacturing or structural environment.

  • Sanitary welding

  • Clamp, hold Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind and/or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.

  • Maintains weld machines using preventative maintenance methods

  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment

  • Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material

  • Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers

  • Weld pipe by method of tungsten in welding (TIG).

  • Ability to maintain dimensions and tolerances to specifications. Ability to weld dissimilar metals. Ability to weld parts and structures that vary in size, shape and thickness.

  • Knowledge of a wide range of welding principles, processes, and difficult techniques requiring complete penetration and fusion of base and filler metals.

  • Performs other duties as assigned, such as fabricating, welding. Support the evaluation and troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions of complex electric controls.

  • Check equipment used for welding and cutting, as well as the required personal protective equipment

  • Description above to include “performing other related duties as assigned.”

Qualifications

  • Proven industrial welding experience, with a specialization in sanitary welding practices

  • Weld structures that vary in size, shape and thickness

  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read/application form information


Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in welding or related field.

Skills

The required skills in Arc, TIG, and MIG welding will be utilized daily to execute precise welds on various metal components. Proficiency in reading blueprints is essential for understanding project specifications and ensuring accurate fabrication. Your experience with overhead cranes will enhance your ability to handle heavy materials safely, contributing to a more efficient workflow. Additionally, skills in metal fabrication and brazing will allow you to tackle a diverse range of projects, increasing your versatility as a welder. Overall, these skills will not only enhance your individual performance but also contribute to the team's success in delivering high-quality products.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (50) pounds. The associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicle traffic, a wide range of temperatures and noise levels.

Compensation Range: $30.00-$50.00

In addition to a competitive salary, roles are eligible for additional compensation and benefits including: vacation time, sick time, bereavement leave, paid holidays and medical benefits and 401(k) savings plan.


Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what we anticipate to pay for this position, based on internal equity and budget.
