Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Rights & Responsibilities (SRR), the Student Conduct Administrator & Student Rights & Responsibilities investigations for incidents involving students, facilitates student complaints, adjudicates student disciplinary referrals involving violations of Title 5, California Code of Education, and assists the Director in developing policies and procedures. Serves as lead administrator for one or more functional areas, to include (but not limited to) : Student Compliance, Academic Integrity and / or Student Organization investigations. May assist the Director with oversight of daily operations of the Student Rights & Responsibilities Office. Incumbent works collaboratively and effectively with students, faculty, staff, parents and the public.Required Education and Experience : Bachelor's Degree in job-related field AND two (2) years of successful and progressively responsible professional management or administrative experience in a student conduct program or a comparable program of similar scale and complexity.ORMaster's degree in Student Personnel Administration, law degree, or equivalent education or training AND one (1) year of professional experience as noted above, to include direct experience conducting investigations.Preferences : Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills :

  • Bilingual
  • Familiarity with legal issues in higher education and / or with previous experience responding to incidents involving issues of discrimination and harassment, and in particular, issues of sexual harassment / sexual violence.
  • Possess a strong understanding of student development theory and student learning theory, and their application to professional practice in higher education and student affairs.
  • Experience working collaboratively with faculty.
  • The administrator should possess strong conflict resolution skills and be able to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • The administrator should maintain accurate records of conduct issues and be able to provide clear and concise reports as needed.
  • The administrator should show a commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on best practices in student conduct administration.
  • Possess a valid California Driver's LicenseTime Base : Full-time- 1.0Pay Plan : 12 / 12Work Schedule : Mon-Fri 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm, Summer - Mon-Thurs 7 : 00-5 : 30.CSU Classification Salary Range : $47,256 - $140,436 per year. (Admin I)Anticipated Hiring Range : Not expected to exceed $78,000 per year.
