Minimum Qualifications
- A master's degree
- Demonstrated ability in working with students to facilitate their transition from high school to college
- Demonstrated ability to work holistically with first-year students who are on academic notice
- Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment
- Experience teaching a first-year student college success course
- A basic understanding of CSUSM academic policy, undergraduate general education requirements, and lower-division preparation for the major
- An ability to direct/guide students to necessary information/resources for implementing a personal plan to overcome academic notice
- Demonstrated counseling skills and ability to work effectively with at-promise students and students in distress
- Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service.
- Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month
- CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month
- CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B - AY: $6,221 - $13,224 per full-time month
