JOB SUMMARY:
TLC Teacher serves as integral members of the district’s leadership team, with a primary focus on enhancing the social-emotional well-being and overall wellness of all students.
TLC Teachers act as a bridge between the regular school day and expanded learning opportunities, fostering a cohesive and supportive environment for student growth and development.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate closely with site administration, leadership teams, and parent groups to support and advance school climate goals.
- Ensure all students feel valued, are treated equitably, and develop a strong sense of belonging on our campuses
- Coordinate and oversee all after-school programs, including:
- Working collaboratively with staff and community program service partners
- Implementing high-quality instruction
- Maintaining student safety
- Ensuring alignment between after-school activities and school-day learning
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Hold an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit (CL-505p)
- Successful experience teaching in grades TK-8 is preferred.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting).
- Provide a clear TB test.
- Reliable transportation is required to meet the needs of the position.
- While driving is not a regular requirement of this role, employees who operate a personal or company vehicle for work purposes must maintain a valid driver's license and current auto insurance on file with HR.

KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Curriculum and instructional strategies appropriate to the assigned responsibility.
- Correct oral and written usage of English basic grammar, spelling, punctuation and math.
- Simple record-keeping and filing techniques.
- Appreciation of the community, city and school district cultures and languages.

- Demonstrate oral and written proficiency in English.
- Implement effective instructional after-school activities in the classroom.
- Learn the procedures and functions of assigned duties.
- Understand and follow oral and written directions.

- Learn, understand and apply rules, regulations, procedures, and policies.
- Understand and be sensitive to the needs and culture of elementary school students.
- Work confidently with discretion.

WORKING CONDITIONS: ENVIRONMENT:
- Indoor/outdoor classroom and playground environment.
- Moderate noise (examples: typical school noise with children at play).
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Seeing to monitor student work and read materials.
- Hearing and speaking accurately to exchange information.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate instructional equipment.
- Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to assist students.
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
- Lifting or moving objects, normally not exceeding thirty (30) pounds.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Must be available M-F for the entire shift schedule.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Word processing
- Use typical office equipment, e-mail, and internet software.
- Web browsing and electronic file management.
- Zoom, Google Classroom, and other digital platforms.
Compensation: $38.33/hour
