The CRC Finance Department is seeking to fill a Senior Tax Accountant role. This position will report to Bakersfield, Santa Clarita or Long Beach, CA. The base annual salary for this posted position is expected to range from $85K - $120K.
The Tax Senior position reports to the Senior Tax Manager. This position will be responsible for assisting in various indirect tax matters including sales and use tax and property tax compliance, sales and use and tax controversy, property tax information requests and appeals, and preparation of business license filings and renewals. Knowledge of systems including Oracle and CorpTax is beneficial. Good communication skills are necessary for interaction with senior level management, operational personnel, vendors and tax authorities.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for gathering data for annual property tax filings
- Responsible for preparing annual property tax filings
- Responsible for preparing bill payment for property tax bills
- Preparation of monthly sales and use tax returns
- Managing tax projects related to property tax information requests from various counties
- Preparation of sales and use tax resale and fuel tax certificates
- Preparation of quarterly Form 720 excise tax returns
- Prioritizing multiple tasks and meet multiple deadlines
- Assisting in tax audits as needed. Identify and help develop new audit controls/processes for upon completion of audits
- Assist in tax consulting and research
- Assist on all project deliverables related to future software/system implementation
- Assist in preparing presentation material and conducting tax training to corporate personnel in various departments
Education & Experience Qualifications:
- Required B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- Five (5) or more years of experience working on corporate tax matters, public accounting experience is preferred
- Upstream oil and gas industry experience preferred
- Demonstrated project management experience
- CPA license preferred
- Strong communication, planning and organization skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment
- Strong outgoing interpersonal skills working collaboratively with other departments
- Strong technical skills and highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient to advanced skills with Excel, Access, and other Microsoft Office tools
- Some understanding of the end-to-end financial accounting and business process flows from integrated financial system(s) to applications
Salary : $85,000 - $120,000
