Night Custodian

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Night Custodian to join our team and ensure the cleanliness, safety, and overall maintenance of our facility during overnight hours. This role is vital in maintaining a welcoming environment for staff and visitors, providing a clean and sanitized space that meets the highest standards. As a Night Custodian, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning tasks, operating cleaning equipment, and handling supplies efficiently to support our operational excellence. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help uphold our commitment to cleanliness and safety.

Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including floors, windows, restrooms, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning techniques such as pressure washing and floor care.
• Conduct window cleaning to ensure clear visibility and maintain building aesthetics.
• Handle janitorial tasks such as trash removal, sanitation, and restocking supplies to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely, including vacuum cleaners, floor polishers, pressure washers, and chemical sprayers while adhering to safety protocols.
• Manage laundry services for facility linens or uniforms as needed, ensuring proper handling and sanitation procedures are followed.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly during all cleaning activities to ensure safety from chemical exposure or other hazards.
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks involving cleaning supplies or equipment, following proper manual handling techniques.
• Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, supply inventories, and safety checks to support infection control measures and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Proven custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or institutional settings.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques including window cleaning, floor care, sanitation practices, and chemical handling.
• Experience operating various cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, floor polishers, and vacuum cleaners.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and moving supplies or equipment.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on infection control and sanitation standards.
• Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff or visitors if needed during shift transitions.
• Familiarity with safety protocols related to chemical use and PPE application.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks during the shift.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
