The California Lottery is a multi-billion-dollar enterprise headquartered in Sacramento. It is one of the few state agencies that is a revenue generator, not accepting taxpayer dollars from the state’s general fund. Our mission is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. Ninety-five cents of every dollar spent by players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retailer compensation.
In fiscal year 2023-24, the California Lottery provided over $2 billion in supplemental funding for California public schools, bringing the total contributions to more than $46 billion since we began in 1985. Lottery products are sold at more than 23,000 retail locations throughout the state. Product offerings include an average of 52 fun and entertaining Scratchers games and several draw games such as Powerball, Mega Millions, and SuperLotto Plus and daily games such as Fantasy 5 and Hot Spot.
Job Description and Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Lottery Ticket Sales Supervisor, the Lottery Ticket Sales Senior Specialist serves as the expert staff resource responsible for the more sensitive and complex development and analysis of Scratcher ticket orders to meet the prescribed sales projection for an assigned group of retailers.

This position is headquartered at Lottery Headquarters in Sacramento and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule. Employees must be able to report to their assigned headquarters office as assigned. Travel expense to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee. Eligibility for telework requires the employee to reside in California per California Government Code Section 14200 which states: “telecommuting means the partial or total substitution of computers or telecommunication technologies, or both, for the commute to work by employees residing in California.

Working Conditions
Schedule: Monday- Friday; 8am-5pm
Travel: Minimal
Other: Overtime may be necessary and will be rare. Any need will be clearly communicated.
Desirable Qualifications
- At least two years of wholesale sales experience.
- At least one year of inventory management experience.
- Knowledge of customer service principles, including the ability to handle challenging customers and retailers while providing service in a professional manner.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of excellent written and oral communication skills, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
- A detail-oriented, comprehensive approach to work assignments, with few (if any) errors or omissions.
- Knowledge of basic research and data gathering techniques, record-keeping techniques, and mathematics.
- Bilingual skills are highly desirable but not required.
