The California Lottery is a multi-billion-dollar enterprise headquartered in Sacramento. It is one of the few state agencies that is a revenue generator, not accepting taxpayer dollars from the state’s general fund. Our mission is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. Ninety-five cents of every dollar spent by players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retailer compensation.
In fiscal year 2023-24, the California Lottery provided over $2 billion in supplemental funding for California public schools, bringing the total contributions to more than $46 billion since we began in 1985. Lottery products are sold at more than 23,000 retail locations throughout the state. Product offerings include an average of 52 fun and entertaining Scratchers games and several draw games such as Powerball, Mega Millions, and SuperLotto Plus and daily games such as Fantasy 5 and Hot Spot.
Job Description and Duties:
Are you interested in a dynamic career with the California State Lottery's Sales Team? Under direction of the Supervisor I, the Analyst II coordinates and oversees the California Lottery’s Retailer Incentive Program while providing key operational and technical support. Oversees incentive programs by managing payments, reviewing documentation, resolving discrepancies, and analyzing data to generate detailed reports. Coordinates in-counter Scratchers hardware installations, tracks inventory fluctuations, and monitors sales volume. Acts as the primary point of contact between Sales and ITSD teams for web solutions, system configurations, and user testing. Manages the setup, installation, and removal of the terminals for special events, supports SmartCount configuration, and assists with management with ad-hoc projects.

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule. Employees must be able to report to their assigned headquarters office as assigned. Travel expense to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee. Eligibility for telework requires the employee to reside in California per California Government Code Section 14200 which states: “telecommuting means the partial or total substitution of computers or telecommunication technologies, or both, for the commute to work by employees residing in California.
Working Conditions:
- Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8 am - 5 pm
- Travel: Minimal statewide overnight travel may be required.
Desirable Qualifications
- Advanced analytical and research skills to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights.
- Leverages exceptional attention to detail to conduct rigorous, line-by-line reviews of funding requests, ensuring zero-error reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to support project delivery from initiation to completion, ensuring it stays on scope, time, and budget.
- Experience tracking, prioritizing, and completing tasks independently. Ability to clearly draft project plans, track key milestones, and maintain risk logs.
- Experience creating and edit clear and concise documents, including procedural documentation.
- Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel (intermediate level), Teams, and PowerPoint. High ability to learn other programs as necessary.
- Ability to maintain professionalism.
- Adept at maintaining meticulous, audit-ready documentation and internal controls to guarantee regulatory compliance.

Salary : $6,031 - $7,547
