Heavy Duty Trailer Technician / Welder-Fabricator

Pay: $22.00–$33.00 /hour DOE

About California Live Floors
California Live Floors has been serving the trucking industry since 1997. We specialize in live floor (walking floor) trailers, belt trailers, Dry van repair, Tanker trailer, welding, fabrication, and automatic tarp systems. We work with owner-operators, fleets, and transportation companies throughout California.

About the Position
This is a heavy-duty commercial trailer repair position—not automotive.
You'll diagnose problems, perform repairs, fabricate components, and complete quality work that keeps our customers safely on the road.

Responsibilities
- Live floor (walking floor) trailer repair
- Belt trailer repair
- Trailer structural repairs and rebuilds
- Aluminum, stainless steel, and steel welding
- Custom fabrication
- Suspension repair and bushing replacement
- Brake repair and replacement
- King pin replacement
- Crossmember repair
- Trailer electrical diagnosis and repair
- ABS diagnostics and repair
- PTO installation, service, and repair
- Automatic tarp system installation and repair
- Hydraulic system diagnosis and repair
- Preventative maintenance
- DOT/BIT inspections
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience with commercial trailers, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, or industrial fabrication
- Ability to weld steel (aluminum welding is a plus)
- Experience performing mechanical repairs
- Ability to lift heavy components and perform physical work throughout the day
Preferred Qualifications
- Live floor or walking floor trailer experience
- Hydraulic troubleshooting experience
- Aluminum welding experience
- Fabrication experience
- PTO knowledge
- Trailer electrical diagnostics
- ABS diagnostics
Experience Levels & Pay$22–$26/hr — Entry-Level Technician
- Meets minimum qualifications
- Performs basic repairs with guidance
- Looking to build a long-term career
$26–$30/hr — Experienced Technician
- Works independently on most repairs
- Strong welding and mechanical skills
- Produces quality work consistently
- Minimal supervision required
$30–$33 /hr — High Level Technician
- Highly skilled and dependable
- Excellent fabrication and diagnostic abilities
- Efficient while maintaining high-quality workmanship
- Little to no supervision required

Schedule
Monday–Friday
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
7:00 AM-3:30 PM during summer (avoid the heat)
Overtime happens whenever customer requested.
