We are seeking a versatile Medical Assistant to join our exciting new ENT practice to support both the front and the back office. Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties:
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist physician during visits and procedures
- Obtain and document patient history, vital signs, and relevant information
- Perform routine clinical tasks including procedure setup and post-op care instructions
- Conduct hearing testing preparation (training provided)
- Manage patient flow, rooming, and equipment preparation/cleaning
- Communicate test results and treatment instructions as directed by physician
- Maintain sterile environment and ensure compliance with safety protocols
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule and confirm appointments with goal of zero no-show rate
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations
- Process prescription refills and respond to patient messages appropriately
- Maintain accurate records in Epic EMR system
- Schedule surgeries and coordinate follow-up appointments
- Manage test scheduling and results communication
- Greet patients professionally and ensure positive first impressions
- Scribe / help with documentation
QualificationsRequired:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proactivity to solve problems and desire to learn new skills
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach
- Proficiency with computers and ability to learn new software
- Team player with flexibility to cover various roles as needed
Preferred:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent training/experience
- Prior experience in medical office setting
- ENT or specialty practice experience
- Epic EMR system experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes
- Bilingual abilities
