We are seeking a Medical Oncologist with a focus on cutaneous malignancies to join our team and help expand our ability to manage complex dermatologic oncology cases within a collaborative dermatology setting. This role is ideal for a physician who is passionate about skin cancer care and interested in working closely with dermatologists and procedural specialists to optimize outcomes for patients with both early and advanced skin malignancies.
Key Responsibilities
Dermatologic Oncology Management
- Evaluate and manage patients with complex and advanced skin cancers, including melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.
- Provide systemic therapy recommendations for cutaneous malignancies when indicated, including immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and emerging treatment modalities.
- Collaborate closely with dermatologists, Mohs surgeons, and pathology to develop comprehensive, patient-specific treatment plans.
Multidisciplinary Skin Cancer Care
- Participate in the longitudinal management of patients undergoing dermatologic surgical treatment, including coordination of care before and after excision or Mohs surgery.
- Provide guidance on staging workup, imaging, and surveillance strategies for high-risk skin cancer patients.
- Serve as an integral part of a multidisciplinary skin cancer care pathway within the practice.
Clinical Collaboration & Consultation
- Work alongside dermatology providers to co-manage complex cases and provide oncologic expertise in challenging presentations.
- Support treatment decision-making for recurrent, metastatic, or high-risk cutaneous malignancies.
- Contribute to the development of standardized protocols for skin cancer management within the practice.
Patient Care & Follow-Up
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care with a focus on patient education and shared decision-making.
- Ensure continuity of care across surgical, medical, and long-term surveillance phases.
- Provide ongoing follow-up for patients requiring systemic therapy or advanced oncologic monitoring.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Medical Oncology.
- Active and unrestricted medical license in California (or eligibility to obtain).
- Clinical experience in the management of cutaneous malignancies, including melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.
- Familiarity with immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and modern oncologic treatment pathways.
- Strong interest in multidisciplinary collaboration with dermatology and procedural dermatologic teams.
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care.
