The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) is seeking a dedicated Analyst II to join our Sacramento Regional Administrative Services Unit. In this vital role, you will engage in complex analytical tasks and serve as a liaison for the Statewide Liaison Services Unit, providing essential recruitment and technical support to our regional offices.

Under the supervision of a Supervisor I the Analyst II is responsible for independently performing a variety of complex personnel-related analytical work including but not limited to contributing to the RPA process, Onboarding, and projects, managing RPA packages, and developing the Personnel Liaison Unit’s special projects. The analyst will ensure that DTSC meets all CalHR requirements regarding hiring, recruiting, research and analysis, data tracking, creating, and maintaining reports, and revising and updating policies to ensure the objectives of our plans are met. As an Analyst II you will have the opportunity to:
- Act as the Liaison between DTSC regional offices and support programs with regards to tracking and communicating on the Request for Personnel Action (RPA) process
- Consult with programs on RPAs to determine and ensure RPA package meets all requirements for review with Budgets and HR
- Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) on behalf of various programs to ensure job postings are accurate
- Track incoming RPA and maintains and updates the status of all RPA packages to ensure RPAs are completed and submitted timely into ServiceNow by giving status updates of RPAs to managers and PL programs
- Review and ensure that RPA documents are retained and saved appropriately and tracked through the RPA Tracker Spreadsheet
- Research proposed changes and coordinate with program staff to ensure accurate information is reflected in the duties and responsibilities reflected in the duty statement
